EFFECTIVE (The Effective Teacher by Harry K. Wong)

In Wong's first chapter in his book, he was able to introduce The Effective Teacher, and that being that kind of teacher has its own ups and downs. He was even able to discuss the 4 Stages of Teaching which would suffice his purpose in the first chapter. Fantasy - the stage wherein the teacher is mostly in the first two years of teaching, thinking that everything that will happen in the classroom will be to his/her liking all the time. Survival - this stage is about having teachers go through struggles, thinking that they do let the students learn, but without giving the due intervention. This also happens when the teacher develops the patterned week of a lesson. Mastery - this is when teachers get to upgrade what they learn. They get to study even further so that what they teach in class can be more fruitful. Impact - in this stage, the teacher maximizes his/her worth in making a difference in the world. Self Introduction

I am a pre-service Values Education teacher whose dream in this world may be bigger than the universe. One of the reasons why I wanted to take up Education as my course above all of the options laid on me, is that I love the fulfilling and the grateful heart of a feeling I get whenever I get to see the younger generation learn something new or that they get to reminisce on the daily life experiences that are related to the lessons we taught during our outreach programs and catechism in my Alma Mater. As far as my educational goals are concerned, I plan to study more. I am fond of learning and research, especially with my eclectic tastes in other matters, I have this never ending curiosity and learning I can’t wait to share with my students, and hopefully the world. I like to think the unthinkable, and think beyond concepts.
