Values Education teachers have always been stereotyped as those teachers who are quite strict with the impression of a principal running in the head of every student, but in reality, these are the teachers that students of this century cling onto whenever they are in times of immense guidance.
For both of my resource teachers, I've always viewed them as Existentialists. As I had the opportunity to observe and have times of conversation with them, they truly are Existentialists because of the holistic development as well as they frequently use the values clarification strategy. They ask students as well to always present in ways they could express themselves because even if these lessons were in the syllabus, they want students to be creative and imaginative.
Then I thought to myself, this is a good realization that in Values Education/CLE classes in my future should be creative and make my students be creative in their own ways because in this subject, hearts and hands are more important than just leaning towards the cognitive level. That's what Values Education is. It's really a holistic formation for students.
